The User Maintenance option is used to set up or update each AccuBuild user, their password and security access to the current company.
When a company is set up for the first time, the system administrator is designated at that time with the controller name and password. AccuBuild automatically assigns the system administrator with a security level of 10 which allows access to the entire accounting system. The system administrator can then assign security levels between 0 and 10 to each menu and report option within AccuBuild by selecting the Menu Settings option. When a user is added to the current company, the user's security level must be equal to or greater than the security level of any option to have access to that option. In addition to the menu settings, each user's access may be defined on the Restrictions tab of this screen. Restrictions can also be assigned to a User Group and individuals linked to a user group will inherit the restrictions assigned to the group. The User Maintenance option also allows for local or network printers to be assigned to each user for various printing tasks.
