Traditional Reports (Crystal Reports)

oChoose the Screen option instead of Print.

oWhen the report is displayed on the screen, select the Envelope Icon at the top of the screen to display the Export Dialogue Screen.

oThe Format field will display a list of file formats including PDF, Excel, Word, etc.

oThe Destination field will default to Disk file which will allow you to save the report in the selected format to your local or network drive.  If the Microsoft Mail (MAPI) option is selected as the destination, then a 'hard copy' of the report is not saved on the system but rather the report is emailed to a designated party.

Note:  If the Microsoft Mail (MAPI) option does not display the Compose email screen, then the Microsoft Outlook program is either not installed or needs to be updated.

o'Export Document' - Select the export icon to the left of the format field.  This will open the report in the selected format.  Once the file is open, you may then save the file as needed using the Save As option within the selected application.

o'Save Document' - You may also save the report in the selected format to your local or network drive  without opening the file first by choosing the icon to the right of the Format field.

o'export all string fields to ascii text file'  - Use this option to turn report data tables into fixed ASCII files that are opened in Notepad after being created.  This can be very useful for producing ASCII Text Files for transferring data to other systems.  If there are multiple tables on the DATA Tab of the report design, then a separate ASCII file will be opened up in Notepad for each individual table.

oIn addition to the export options within ReportBuilder Pro, you may optionally save an MAR report as a MAR Data View on your AccuBuild screen.  This option then allows the user to view the data for each data pipe within the report in a read-only grid.  This display gives you the flexibility to group and filter the data within the grids as needed.  The data can then be exported to a spreadsheet; all report headers and footers will be excluded.
