The Controls Tab contains the depreciation information. Both the 'book basis' and the 'tax basis' depreciation information can be listed on this tab. AccuBuild uses the 'book basis' information to create the depreciation expense entry via the Equipment Journal option. The 'tax basis' information is for reference only.
This tab also contains the rental rate information. A bare rental rate and a rate that includes an operator can be set up for both in-house (contract work) and outside (non-contract work) rentals.
In addition, the total meter hours logged on the piece of equipment will be displayed in the Historical Rental Hours (Hours Meter) field. This field is read-only; this data may not be changed on this screen. This field is automatically updated by AccuBuild whenever payroll timecard entries are posted that have been linked to a department code that has been designated as Equipment Rental - In House. This field may also be updated with an equipment journal entry. You may set up the estimated (budgeted) number of hours that the equipment will be used in the current year in the Available Hrs field. The Equipment Utilization Report will provide you with a comparison between the budgeted and the actual hours used.
