Setting Up the Chart of Accounts

Top  Previous  Next

Almost every transaction entered into any of the AccuBuild modules will automatically post to the general ledger. In order to do this, the Chart of Accounts must first be established and then the ledger interface may be set up in each module. The list of accounts is unique for each company so be sure to check with your company's accountant before setting up this list.  AccuBuild also has built-in company templates that can be used when setting up a new company.  The templates install a variety of master lists including the Chart of Accounts and all of the property settings in all of the modules which dictate how the modules interface with the general ledger.  Please refer to the New Company Setup in the System Administrator manual for more information on company templates.

The Chart of Accounts Screen consists of four tabs of data: Settings, Account Activity, Historical and UDFs.  The Settings Tab contains the data fields that need to be entered to set up a new account.  The Account Activity Tab and the Historical Tab holds read-only fields.  The UDFs Tab allows you to enter data about the account in a user defined field.
