Client List – Correction

The client list phone number fields were not including proper formatting characters for area code etc. – This problem has been fixed.

Job Cost - Enhancements

A new feature called Edit Retention % was added to the Update Jobs > Detail Items screen for changing the retention percentage on ALL contract billing and sub payment sheet detail items on a single job without editing each item individually.  This feature will make it much easier to update items whenever the retention percentages are adjusted in the middle of a project.  For example, on some state and federal projects, the retention percentage is reduced from 10% to 5% when the project is 50% complete.

A new setting is now available on the Update Jobs > Billing Tab called the Retention Adjustment %. This field is also used to adjust the retention percentages on contract billings and can be very useful for handling retention reductions during the course of a project and for handling fractional retention percentages such as 2.5%.  The setting in this field is a percentage that must be between 1 and 99 and will be used as a calculation factor against each retention percentage on the individual job detail items that are linked to a contract billing.

The contract billing screen has been enhanced to handle Retention Adjustment calculations based on the new Retention Adjustment % field on the job list.  The changes are as follows:

If a Retention Adjustment is set up on the project, it will now be displayed on the screen so that the user will understand the retention calculations on the current project.  Remember that if a Retention Adjustment exists, then the retention percentage on the billing item will be adjusted using the Retention Adjustment Factor to compute the amount of retention to be withheld.

Another new feature that has been added is a new alert that is activated whenever the retention percentages have changes since the last time the project was billed.  This new alert gives the operator the choice to recalculate the current retention amount for all past billed items so that the new retention percentages are reflected in the current billing.  This makes it very simple to bill for retention due when the retention percentages are changed in the middle of the project.

The contract billing screen has been enhanced with a new check box for Flag Billing as Retention.  Normally an invoice is flagged as retention only when the Auto Retn button is used.  If you bill for partial retention, the invoice is not flagged as retention unless you check on the new box.  If the box is checked, the invoice will show up on the aging schedule under the retention column.

Ledger – Post Closing Journal - Correction

The post closing journal would sometimes display an incorrect message indicating that the account being entered was not a Balance Sheet account when in fact it was a Balance Sheet account.  This problem has been corrected.

MAR Report Enhancements

When changing the report class on the MAR Reports Menu for a spreadsheet report, a new option has been added to allow a report dialog to be displayed prior to running the data for the spreadsheet report.  This now allows for the spreadsheet reports to handle cutoff dates and partial run options for creating the ODBC Connection tables.

A new table is now created for any MAR report that includes a report dialog.  This new table is called UserMARReportParametersTable and will include various report parameter information which can be used in custom MAR Reports.

Note: For MAR Spreadsheet reports that use a dialog, the corresponding ODBC Tables will automatically be created for the new UserMARReportParametersTable.
