The 'Too Many Record Locks on Table' error message will occur in AccuBuild's Enterprise Version if the Advantage Server has not been configured properly.  If the error is encountered, please have all users exit the system and then follow the instructions for configuring the server as found in the Enterprise Installation Notes documentation.

The Paradox tables that AccuBuild uses has a built in transaction tracking feature that will roll back all entries within a batch if the batch fails to post.  This tracking feature has a limit of 250 records within the batch, therefore, it is advised that users try not to create large batches.  In some cases, posting multiple batches may not be practical.  For example, creating multiple batches of time card entries for the same week ending may be created but new reports would need to be printed in order to summarize all of the batches related to the week ending period.  Therefore, the transaction tracking may be disabled.

 

Disable the Transaction Tracking

Whenever a batch posting fails due to the 'Too many record locks on table' error, a check box to disable the transaction tracking will appear on the posting dialogue screen.  Simply click on this option and retry the posting.

 

The transaction tracking can also be disabled by clicking on the option under the Help Menu.  This will temporarily disable the tracking on all postings for the current user until the user closes the program.  Continually disabling the transaction tracking for accounts payable and accounts receivable batches is not recommended.

 

The transaction tracking may be permanently disabled for payroll entries by clicking on the option located on the System Administrator | Configuration | Accounting Tab.
