Receivables Setup

.The Properties option of the Receivables module must be set up before any billings or receipts can be entered.  This option contains the interface with the Ledger and Job Cost systems as well as the default printer assignment for the miscellaneous invoices.

.The Sales Master List is an optional feature that can be used to define codes that represent services or materials that will appear on the miscellaneous billings.  These codes can be used to save input time by containing default descriptions and unit pricing and each code may be linked to a revenue account.  Sales codes may also be set up as taxable.

.If your company charges its customers sales tax, then be sure to update the sales tax district codes found in the Clients module.  Each customer can be set up to have a default sales tax district but this default may be changed as miscellaneous billings are created.

.A list of customers may be added to the Receivables system by selecting the Customers option. This is the same database as found in the Clients module but the Customers option contains a filter to display only those clients with a type of 'customer' or 'both'.
