Button Bar for My AccuBuild Reports – explained from left to right

 

Preview Button

Display the report on the screen.  Once the report is displayed, you have the option of printing, exporting, e-mailing, and filing a copy of the report in the Document Management system.  You can also preview a report by simply double-clicking on the report name.

 

Modify Button

Open the report designer and modify the report as desired.  If the modified report is saved, then the original copy of the report will be copied to the Trash Can as a backup copy, and the modified report will be saved over the original report. Important Note: The Trash Can will maintain every copy of the report so that you can always recover a previous report design unless the report is deleted from the Trash Can.

 

Copy/Salvage Button

Create a copy of an AccuBuild Library report or Company Library report.  The AccuBuild Library reports and forms cannot be modified but you can make a copy of the report or form and then make changes to the copy.  If you are browsing reports in the Trash Can file, then this option changes to a Salvage option to recover reports from the trash can back to the company library.   The system does not store the date/time stamp of the deletion therefore this information cannot be displayed. Note:  Not all reports and forms have been converted for use with the new report writer.  The system will not allow you to copy those reports that have not yet been converted and the message 'report file missing' will be displayed.  You should still be able to print the report but you won't have the ability to copy and modify it.

 

Delete Button

Remove a report from the list and file it in the Trash Can folder.  If you delete a report in the Trash Can folder, it will be deleted permanently.  Please note that even a permanently deleted report can still be recovered by changing the associated ADMS record type.  All custom reports (including those moved into the Trash Can) are stored inside the documents table DMMASTER with a DocumentRecType = '-22' & '-23'

 

Add Button

Add a new report to your Company Library from a disk file (.rtm).  This option is mainly used to add existing reports from the ReportBuilder Pro option into your company library for easier management and increased functionality. This button is only available when a report branch (ie. Job Cost Reports) is selected. Note: The File > ReportBuilder Pro option will remain on the menu for a time in order to support backwards compatibility, however, each company is encouraged to move any existing reports and forms to My AccuBuild Reports for increased functionality as well as future support.  

 

New Button

Create a new report for your company library. This button is only available when a report branch (ie. Job Cost Reports) is selected.

 

Rename a Report or Form

Rename a report by typing in a new description at the top of the screen. Click on the Lightning Bolt icon to the right of the description field to immediately update the report name on the Report Branch.  Failure to click on the Lightning Bolt icon will prevent the changes from being saved.

Properties Button

Report security is handled through the Properties button.  This button should be secured so that only system administrators have access to it.  All report security is based on user and group access rights so that reports can be published or assigned to one or more users or user groups.
