General Journal

The General Journal report is used to print a detail list of transactions entered as general journals (source code 50) for a selected date range.  This report is especially helpful in tracking errors when reconciling the Payables and Receivables modules to the general ledger.  Please refer to the Accounts Payable Aging Schedule and the Accounts Receivable Aging Schedule documentation in their respective training manual for more information.

 

Each journal entry on this report will have a subtotal which should be equal to zero in most circumstances. As a rule of thumb, the only entries that can be posted 'out of balance' are general journal entries but only if the Allow Single Sided General Ledger Journal Entries option is enabled in the System Administrator.
