The following examples show how the job cost capsheet report will appear if more than one detail item is coded to the same job and phase.
Estimate Detail File - Cost Estimate Information
Please note in the above example how some items are coded to the same job cost phase. When items are coded to the same phase, they will be summarized together on the job cost capsheet reports. The capsheet report pulls the cost estimate description from the first item coded to a phase. For example, items 2, 3 and 4 have been coded to phase 10.00. To prevent the items from summarizing on the capsheet report with a description of 'Concrete Labor - Site' as found on item 2, item 1 was entered for description purposes only and was not assigned a dollar value. This option allows you to build a very detailed list of estimated costs and still have the flexibility of summarizing the estimated costs whenever job costs reports are printed. On the other hand, each item can be assigned its own job cost phase to produce a more detailed job cost report (see the following example).
As in the prior example, Items 1, 5 and 7 have been entered with an amount zero for the sole purpose of providing a specific cost description which will print on the job cost capsheet report. Please note that in this example, each budget item received its own unique job cost phase which allows the item to print separately on the job cost capsheet report. This capsheet report also shows the subtotal that can be created when the Print Phase Subtotals on Job Cost Capsheet Reports option is enabled on the System Administrator > Configuration > Accounting Tab. |
