The equipment list contains a graphic field in the database for storing pictures of each piece of equipment. This feature can help you to keep current records of your equipment, trucks, office equipment and serves as an excellent record keeping tool for insurance purposes in case of loss or theft. Although a variety of picture formats can be used (GIF, JPG, BMP, etc.), it is recommended that you use the JPG format for your images since these files are condensed and used less room to store.  New pictures will be compressed in size before they are saved to the database in order to conserve space in the database for high resolution pictures.

WARNING – If you plan on storing pictures in bitmap (BMP) format, be sure to keep the files as small as possible (less than 100K Bytes in size) in order to keep the database manageable. By keeping the resolution down (320 x 240 recommended) and the number of colors low, you will save a lot of disk space when storing images.  Keep in mind that these images will be included in your company backup files and these files will become huge depending on the number of images and the size of each image.

Use the Copy to Clipboard button to copy the equipment pictures to the Windows Clipboard so that they may be added to other documents.

A compression utility called ADMSEquipImgConverter.exe is stored in the AccuBuild Program Folder and can be used to compress and convert existing pictures in the Equipment List in order to reduce the size of the equipment database table and save on disk space.  This utility should only be run when all users are out of the AccuBuild Program, and an AccuBuild Backup should always be made of the company data BEFORE using this utility.  This utility is only necessary for companies that have been storing high resolution equipment pictures in the equipment list.  All pictures are converted to JPG format and compressed to reduce the size of the equipment list table.
