Installing AccuBuild Mobile for the First Time

 


 

1.On the server, download the following link:

 

       http://rtdtx.net/Software/AccuBuildMobileSetup.exe

 

2.Click on the downloaded file to start the installation process.  The program will install to the default location on your server:  C:\Program Files\AccuBuild Mobile.  You may change the default location but you will need to remember the new location whenever you install an AB Mobile update.  

 

3.Open the accubuild.ini configuration file and change the DbPath setting to the location of where the accubld8.exe resides on your server, using the non-mapped network drive location.  For example, your network may map the shared drive 'ABENT' as drive P and the accubld8.exe file would reside in the folder P:\AccuBld8.  In this configuration file, you would type in the file path as:
       C:\ABENT\AccuBld8\Data\Baseglob.add.  

 

Save your changes and close the file.

 

4.In the new folder, create a desktop shortcut on the server for the AccuBuild Mobile program (accubuild.exe).  You may need access to this program to force a logout of users from the mobile application.

 

5.From a workstation, login to the AccuBuild program using an administrator user name.  Go to File > System Administrator > AccuBuild Mobile.  Click on the Mobile / Cloud Settings Tab.  Click on each of the configuration buttons; you should get a message with each button that the option was updated successfully.  Click on the Start Service button to enable the mobile program.  

 

Click on the AccuBuild Settings Tab on this same screen.  Choose which time card worksheet fields will be visible in the mobile app.  Also choose the entry format of the time card hours:  Total Hours or Start/End Time.  Click the 'X' to close the screen and save your changes.

 

6.Go to File > System Administrator > User Maintenance and select a user that will have access to the mobile app.  Click Edit and select the Mobile Settings Tab.  Check the box 'Mobile Access is Enabled for This User' and click the button 'Update UNC Paths'.  Click the menu options that the user should have access to in the mobile app.  Click Save.  Repeat this process for each user that will be using the mobile app.

 

 

Installing AccuBuild Mobile Updates

 


 

1.From your workstation, open the AccuBuild program, go to File > System Administrator > AccuBuild Mobile, locate the Mobile / Cloud Settings Tab and click the Stop Service button.  Leave this screen open in order to perform Step 4.

 

2.On the server, download the following link:

 

       http://rtdtx.net/Software/AccuBuildMobileSetup.exe

 

3.Click on the downloaded file to start the installation process.  The program will install to the default location on your server:  C:\Program Files (x86)\AccuBuild Mobile.  Do not change the default installation.  The installer will not write over the accubuild.ini which contains the path to the database.

 

4.From your workstation, click on the Setup / Refresh Mobile Dtabase Procedures button (located on the Mobile / Cloud Settings Tab in Step 1); you should get a message that the option was updated successfully.  Click on the Start Service button to enable the mobile program.
