If your company is located in the state of New Mexico or if your employees work in New Mexico, then be sure to follow these instructions in order to properly set up the payroll system.
New Mexico - State Withholding [Version 10.2] - The state withholding settings have been updated for the New Mexico State Withholding controls in order to support the 'Head of Household' Status for payroll tax calculations. New Mexico state withholding tax calculations for the 2020 tax year will now support withholding tables for Head of Household Status:
New Mexico - Workers Comp Deduction [Version 10.2.1.0] - The employee portion of the Workers Compensation fee has been increased from $2.00 to $2.25 effective July 1, 2025 as a result of Senate Bill 535.
This deduction is taken once per quarter and is applicable to all employees working the last day of the quarter.
AccuBuild can automatically create these deductions for you but you must click on the W/Comp Deduct Enabled option that is located on the Payroll > Properties > Tax Rates > State Tax Settings > Nevada Screen to enable this automation.
•This option must be enabled PRIOR to beginning the time card entries that should include this deduction. •This option must then be disabled PRIOR to beginning the time card entries for the next pay period.
