Enable Auto Report Refresh

Top  Previous  Next

This feature is used to cause the Crystal Reports Engine to verify all file structures before running a report. If this feature is enabled, then all reporting processes will slow down slightly due to the extra steps required at load time to verify that the data structures are current with the report format being used. This feature is mainly for clients that are using Custom Reports and are getting access violation errors when the custom reports are being printed. If the custom report is not refreshed with the Crystal Reports program and a file structure has changed in the program, Crystal will usually generate an exception error and sometimes cause the program to hang up. If an exception error occurs while running a report, and enabling this option causes the problem to go away, then the report format file should be refreshed with the latest data structure changes.
