Detail Items - Production Units - By Detail Item

Top  Previous  Next

Production Units are used to measure unit cost based on such measurements as lots, square footage, cubic yards, etc., and are entered on a periodic basis as the units are completed.  Production units should not be confused with Estimated Units which are entered in job detail items which are used to compare estimated labor or material units against actual labor or material units.

Production Units can be tracked in AB by either Cost Phase or Detail Item.  When tracked by detail item, the user creates and maintains the Master Bid Items and Bid Item Tasks through the Job Cost > Production Units by Detail Item menu option.  These records are posted to the estdetl.adt table and may be viewed on the Job Center > Detail Items > Tab.

[Version 10.1] - In order to prevent orphaned task records for Bid Item Groups, the Job Center Screen will no longer allow detail items that are linked to the COR Log (change order items) to be deleted if they are set up for production units by detail items. If a record deletion is attempted, the user will be directed to the COR Breakdown Screen in order to delete these records to prevent any orphaned records for the Bid Item Group

Please refer to the documentation titled 'Production Units by Detail Item' for complete information on this topic.
