NON E-File Due Dates
•January 31 is the filing due date for both the employee/recipient and federal PAPER copies of the W-2 and 1099-Misc forms. •If the filing deadline falls on a Saturday, Sunday, or a legal holiday, the deadline will be the next business day. •Be sure to check with your State Agency or CPA for the due date for your state.
E-File Due Dates
Employers filing 10 or more informational returns must file electronically unless granted a waiver by the IRS. Count the total of all W-2s, 1099-NEC and 1099-MISC forms that you need to file in order to determine if you must file electronically.
Example: In the current reporting year you have paid six employees (Form W-2) and three independent contractors (Form 1099-NEC). You also need to report the rent you've paid to your landlord for your office space (Form 1099-MISC). This is a total of ten forms and therefore you will need to e-file all of the forms.
Employers must submit their W-2s and 1099s to Aatrix for e-File before the dates indicated in the link below in order to ensure their filings are accepted by the agencies as timely.
